Human Error

Victoria Siemer, also know as Witchoria, is a graphic designer hailing from Brooklyn, New York. Human Error is a series of nostalgic polaroids that depict the broken heart as a computerized error that may or may not be restored in a few mouseclicks.

"

Not the sunset poem you make when you think
aloud,
with its linden tree in India ink
and the telegraph wires across its pink
cloud;

nor the mirror in you and her delicate bare
shoulder still glimmering there;
not the lyrical click of a pocket rhyme —
the tiny music that tells the time;

and not the pennies and weights on those
evening papers piled up in the rain;
not the cacodemons of carnal pain;
not the things you can say so much better in plain
prose —

but the poem that hurtles from heights unknown
— when you wait for the splash of the stone
deep below, and grope for your pen,
and then comes the shiver, and then —

in the tangle of sounds, the leopards of words,
the leaflike insects, the eye-spotted birds
fuse and form a silent, intense
mimetic pattern of perfect sense.

kalynroseanne:

Sometimes you’re 23 and standing in the kitchen of your house making breakfast and brewing coffee and listening to music that for some reason is really getting to your heart. You’re just standing there thinking about going to work and picking up your dry cleaning. And also more exciting things…

You know that feeling when you connect with something so hard that you can feel your stomach retract and your lungs seize for a split second?

Yeah.

"How scary it is
to learn how to trust yourself
all over again.
To stand at the cliff,
look over the edge,
and really see all of the damage
you have done to yourself.
You are believing in your ability
to step back and move along.
You are believing in your ability
to love yourself again."

Once I opened a book and found this page and pulled out my phone and took this picture.

I know nothing else besides that.

I’ve been biting my lip again, though the reasons tend to vary this time.

Sometimes you set your alarm early and mean to get up and put on some clothes and tug on your shoes and put your headphones in and turn up the music and pick up your feet and keep your eyes forward and your arms swinging and you take sharp inhales and force the air out and just keep going until you have thoughts of stopping and then you push yourself for another mile.

My alarm has gone off twice.

My dog’s head is resting on my left knee. He’s softly snoring, which I’m fairly certain is the only snore I will willingly endure.

The sun is making it’s way above the buildings and slowly pushing it’s way through the dirt and grime of my windows, filling my apartment.

I’m half-naked, wrapped up in a comforter.

The fan is humming softly in the corner.

My alarm has gone off again.
